MONDAY MENTAL PROTEIN: 10 Habits For Your Personal and Professional Mastery

HabitToday I want to share some deep, simple yet highly effective ideas for living true to your potential. By mastering these habits you unleash your potential and increase the certainty of your ultimate success.

Face your fears:

We all have fears. The antidote for any fear is action. Don’t be an ostrich and put your head in the sand. Not only will you spoil your hair, you also lose out on conquering your fears. Here is Dale Carnegie to inspire your action: “Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy”.

Be Grateful:

Be deeply grateful. We know the story of the man who cried because he had no shoes. Then he met the man who had no feet. Rumi said it so beautifully: “Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of your life”.

Be Faithful:

Have unlimited faith that your road will lead you to “Success-Ville”. Your car lights only light up the next 20 – 30 metres, yet you have faith that the road you cant see will take you to your destination. In the same token, here is a priceless gem from Martin Luther King Jr; “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step”. Master your faith.

Accept the Setbacks as Challenges:

Which famed artist, musician, entrepreneur or sports person worth mentioning did not have several debilitating setbacks to overcome? Some of the most revered religious personalities like Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, the prophet Mohamed etc. all had to overcome many setbacks. “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds” said Albert Einstein. Did they quit? No, they embraced those setbacks, for the path to any lasting success is often filled with one challenge, then another and another. Yet within these challenges are the seeds of opportunity.

Look Within:

“It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell” said Buddha. The best victory is over oneself. Once you win the wars of self doubt, self confidence, self esteem, self discipline etc. then the external battles can easily be won.

Do only what you love:

Don’t get saddled doing things that you dislike. Find your true love, passion and purpose and serenade him or her. It won’t feel like work. It will liberate your soul. “If it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, go out and sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures. Sweep streets like Handel and Beethoven composed music. Sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will have to pause and say, here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well” said Martin Luther King, Jr. This can only ever be achieved through love for your craft.

He who suffers best, does best:

Those of you who have started out life hard, with little or no backing, growing up among the have-nots, generally go on to be outrageously successful. Look at all the first generation millionaires and billionaires. They are self made. Most times, without any formal education. Yet borne out of their suffering was the strong desire to ensure their children have better opportunities and never have to experience the same level of suffering, ever again. Khalil Gibran shared this thought; “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars”. They also go onto make great strides in success and achievement when they put their suffering to use.

Discount the opinions of the “nay-sayers” and the “dooms-dayers”:

You have heard the expression before about opinions. Yes, everyone has one. If you get caught up with what others think that you should be doing with your life, you’re heading for tragedy. The only real authority for you, is you! Would you really want to take advice of other people who often themselves have no clue, direction or purpose yet feel inclined to advise you on what, how, when and where to do? Take it with a ton of salt. “A man who trims himself to suit everybody will soon whittle himself away” said Charles Schwab.

Be bold, be brave:

You too want unrivaled success at your occupation. When the opportunity arises and your numbers and plans align. When your research supports your objective, go out bravely and boldly and declare war on mediocrity. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said it so appropriately; “Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it”. Don’t forget that “fortune favours the brave”.

Lights, Camera, ACTION:

“Vision without action is daydream. Action without vision is nightmare” goes the old Japanese Proverb. You got it. Take copious amounts of action. Without action, all you really have, are dreams. Dreaming up elaborate plans for success, without ever taking action will result in the nightmare of never having achieved. Take daily, consistent action in the direction of your goals and have the time of your life while doing so.

Super LikeRemember that greatness is really just a series of small daily wins in the direction of your goals. With critical mass you achieve leverage and from leverage come massive wins. Success is habit, nothing more. Develop good habits and make them your masters.

MONDAY MENTAL PROTEIN: A Wonderfully Weird Bout of Insanity

Recently at a talk I was approached by a guest who was perplexed with his current lack of results.

He claimed to have done everything to turn his life around.  At a near state of personal and financial collapse, he asked for my help.  After a quick fact finding interview it became apparent that he didn’t change anything but was suffering a wonderfully weird, yet self inflicted bout of insanity.

“The story of the human race is the story of men and women selling themselves short” said Abraham Maslow.  Are you also guilty of running the same track repeatedly and expecting different outcomes, selling yourself short?  Too many people are.  They start the new year with new resolutions but continue with their old thought patterns, words, associations and habits.  Ask yourself, how can you expect to change your results?  Thats like planting an apple tree, yet expecting it to yield bananas.  No matter how many times you try, you will only get more and more apples when what you really want are the prized bananas.  Albert Einstein defines it appropriately; “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

If you’re suffering a bout of “insanity” don’t despair their is a cure.  It is tried and tested.  Its an age old recipe.  Some call it universal, some call it biblical, some call it new age…Regardless of what you call it, it starts with you.  The “Laws of Causality” start and end with you.  Its the timeless “Law of Cause and Effect” or also known as the “Law of Sowing and Reaping”.  When you start to sow your thoughts, words, deeds and habits  congruent with your goals, only then can you expect to harvest your ripened fruit.  Therefore to increase the effects (outcomes) we desire, we must increase the causes thereof.

Here are the Laws of Causality in application for your success:

  1. Think, talk and act only about achieving your goals for the next 24 hours, then the next 30 days incessantly.
  2. Increase your “activities of sowing”; do more reps, run more km’s, make more sales calls etc.
  3. Increase the value of service to others and your needs will be served.
  4. Believe and act as if you cant fail.
  5. Start today, don’t stop until you summit at your goal.

At the upcoming VINESH MAHARAJ – PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL MASTERY PROGRAM – 2014 we unpack ALL the Laws for your personal and professional success and achievement. The Law of Cause and Effect and all the other success laws are revealed, trained and mastered to bring about the results you want and need.  This flagship program is a game changer and has become synonymous with results achievement. CONVERTING CUSTOMERS TO FANS

Too many of us are concerned with success alone. Success is really the final number, emotion, sentiment or feeling at the end of any transaction between family, friends, employers and employees, business and customers.

Here is ONE idea which will make your customers your greatest fans! VALUE: “Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value” – Albert Einstein said.

By being customer centric, ADD MASSIVE VALUE AND WATCH THEM KEEP COMING BACK, time after time…and enjoy lasting success

Based on your business, VALUE could mean additional services or benefits in the interest of the customer.  Its not limited in any way and could take on a myriad of forms.  If you offer exceptional service or unique benefits in your industry that customers value, you are on your way to the major leagues and as you know major league teams have major fans, following your every move.

So keep on styling and converting your customers into your greatest fans…
