Whether you’re married or single, parent or not, employed or in the hunt for a new a job…we are all in sales. All day long…as a business owner, director, manager, parent or friend you are selling daily. You are selling yourself, your credibility, your ability, your standards, your competence. We all are in the business of sales.

Not only are you selling yourself, you are also selling your ideologies on business, management, love, friendship, money etc. Every time we speak we are selling or encouraging a desired outcome which we want more of or we are discouraging an outcome we want none of. Ultimately we are all in sales.

Parents sell morals and values. Being a person of morals and values will unlock a brighter future for their children. “Be honest and work hard”.

Mothers sell good health. “Eat your fruit and vegetables”.

Dad sells a academic success. “Do your home work, my girl”.

Doctors sell longevity. “Take these medicines 3 times a day”

Lawyers sell peace of mind. “We’ll get them”.

Insurers sell peace of mind. “Don’t worry, when you’re gone, we will care for your family”.

Cinema’s sell dreams. “Miss this and miss out. Coming to a cinema near you”

Shoe stores sell confidence. “A woman in heels is true elegance”

ICT stores and brands sell efficiency. “What would you do without your cellular phone and laptop”?

Car dealerships sell you an experience. “Single man – sports car. Family man, family car for family vacations”

Take out sells convenience. “I’m running late. I’ll get take out for dinner at …”

Banks sell promises. “Invest with us and watch your wealth grow”.

Still don’t believe me? What do you sell?

MONDAY MENTAL PROTEIN: NEW YEAR, SAME OLD YOU?

So most, if not all of us are back to work, back to life and its challenges. Many have made New Years resolutions and set new goals to live life fulfilled and inspired, having committed to pursuing various objectives such as weight loss, get out of debt projects, wealth creation, business success goals etc.

While it may be a New Year, if you are the same old you, you are sure to create the same old results. Now this is not rocket science. This is fact. Old habits of thinking, perception, beliefs and reality will keep you trapped exactly where you are, exactly where you have been. To break the mould you have to challenge yourself to adopt a new reality by changing limiting beliefs, converting them into possibility thinking. You have to create perceptions which serve your outcomes. You must choose thinking whats possible versus whats impossible. Remember “when you focus on your problems you get more…problems. When you focus on your possibilities you get more…opportunities”. Everything starts and ends with YOU. You hold the key to your future and your future starts in your thought.

To create new results we have to become the new person who has the attributes, character and habits of thinking to attract the circumstances and opportunities while also holding the skills and knowledge to execute new ideas and actions required for new results. In psychology there is a branch call “The psychology of becoming”. The study of the art of becoming a new person who subscribes to new possibilities, new perceptions and new realities.

HERE ARE 7 HABITS TO MASTER YOUR BECOMING:

1. COMMIT – To becoming all that you can be. Be specific when you write it among your topmost goals for this year. Review that goal daily and act like a coach…keep changing strategy until you strike gold.
2. ASSOCIATE YOUR MIND WITH YOUR OUTCOMES – Think, talk and act like the vision you hold in your mind of that person who has the qualities, skills and results you wish to acquire. Read about your hero’s and guru’s to inspire your success.
3. BE MASSIVELY CONSISTENT – Don’t go back and forth between the old and new you. Be consistent and consistent results will follow.
4. PIT STOP – Stop regularly to gauge your progress. Measure and manage.
5. ASK FOR HELP – The wheel has already been developed. Don’t waste valuable time re-inventing it. Seek the best help (coach, mentors and advisers) who can keep you “becoming” all that you can be. Stretching your potential.
6. KEEP THE FAITH – So what if you don’t hit a home run on the first ball? Just keep swinging the bat. Remember in the game of life, you are the referee and umpire and only YOU can call you out. As long as you keep swinging, you’re still in the game. So keep the faith.
7. MASTER YOUR CRAFT – Do whatever it takes to master your becoming. Keep polishing and shining until your shine brighter than the sun. As you become more, you will do more, attract more and live more fulfilled.

Welcome to 2015…

Today I challenge you. Today I want to stretch your possibilities, if you really want to make this the best year of your life.

2014 is history and if like most people, you have dreams, hopes and ambitions unfulfilled. What if I shared with you a fool proof way to succeed bigger, better and bolder than ever before? Would you then want to go on to live your dream life? Inspired, Motivated and highly fulfilled?

Well, that and more is possible if you do the following:

One – Shed your fear

Fear is the greatest dream killer known to man. I’m not asking you to take un-calculated risks. I am asking you to man up to your fears and overcome them.

Here is how:

1. Acknowledge your fear. There is no need to be a macho man…remember all fears are learned and can therefore be unlearned.
2. Understand the root of your fear. Where does it stem from. Is it real or imaginary? Whats the worst case scenario? Etc.
3. Go to war to eliminate that fear from your consciousness.

Two – Believe

Belief the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. Build upon you belief. Here is how:

1. Develop a Positive Mental Attitude that’s indestructible.
2. Eliminate Negative thinking completely.
3. Let your Positive Beliefs run through your veins like blood. Go to work to Believe that success is possible for you too.

Three – Pay the price, Do the work, whatever it takes…

Most people think that The Laws of Attraction alone, will bring them results.They forget the toiling that is required in any field of endeavor. Here is how:

1. Raise your standards. Ask more of yourself everyday than you do of anyone else.
2. Commit to doing whatever it takes to make it happen.
3. Rise earlier than the competition, do more work during the day than the competition and sleep later than the competition…working at your goals with every breath as if your life depended on it.
